My father is a politician. We are not close. I haven't seen him since last Christmas, though we spoke on the phone a few times this year. My boss found out my father is a politician and tried using this to his advantage, making me ask my father sensible questions regarding the future of our institution. My father always responded with short, plain answers and I think my boss is displeased, as he seems to expect more details. Which my father isn't suppose to give him in the first place. Now, it seems my boss is in danger of losing his job, as his boss wants to replace him. My boss told me that if my father helps him keep his job, he's going to look after me here. I told my father, who got angry with this "deal" and said he doesn't like feeling used. Now, as his help won't be coming, my boss started treating me differently, not in the good way, and I feel none of this is fair. I don't care about politics, I just want to do my job but my boss dragged me into this. He's scared about losing his job, my father has absolutely no obligation to help him and instead of expressing his anger at the situation, he's lashing out at me. I'm starting to resent it...

  • it is hard, but I l tell you no one is against you, but everyone one is for themselves. Try explaining that your dad is not that close and if so at least give him false hope f it could help you. If he loses his job or not wont be his fult and hope is still better than fear.
