I learned today that apparently I'm depressed? I feel bad but at the same time I don't because... I didn't know I was.... I feel... nothing.. all I feel now is confusion, I even asked my doctor and others, some how I never knew... I feel as if I'm some how in a way mentally and emotionally insufficient... can anyone tell me if this is normal or am I in some shape or form, mentally and emotionally insufficient?

  • It's different for everyone, but there are some points that are similar. Yes, not feeling anything is a "symptom" of depression. First of all, you've only just now learned about your state so take your time to deal with it. How do you feel about it? Try to really feel the emotions, at least that 's what helped me. And now the most important thing (since you've seen a doctor, I think you already know about that) get help! It can be your family, your doctor or a therapist, but find somebody to talk to. If you have to express yourself, it makes you think about it. Try to accept it (Don't live with it, but try to realize that at the moment you're in a state that isn't normal/healthy, but many people go through at least once in life. You can change it) Go on from there. I hope the best for you!

  • It's totally normal. It's gets to a point where you yourself can't notice changes with yourself because you just think it's normal and suppress everything. You don't deserve to be feeling this way but you are not alone
