Take it off your chest...

Has anyone here ever had an overprotective boyfriend? No, not the jealous one. I'm a strong independant woman, so I really don't need a man who insists on carrying my bag down the stairs so I don't trip, or who comes to my apartment once a week only to clean my bathroom so I don't inhale any "bad chemicals" (those are only some examples). When I try talking to him about this he always puts on this sweet worried face. I love him but whenever we're together I feel like this weak and frail doll he seems to believe I am. Am I a bad woman for having thoughts of breaking up with him after almost 7 months being in a relationship? I feel so mean I can't even talk to my best friend about it...

  • He likes to pamper his woman. I do this also. It annoys my girlfriend to no ends but she understands because she is my little princess. I know that she's a strong and independent woman, but she likes to have a "hero" in the house to take care of her. Honestly, she understands that her being an independent woman means that she can do everything on her own but having to ask me to do it gives me an ego boost. It helps strengthen the relationship when both parties communicate and compromise. Don't fuss over the small stuff. In the end, is it a bad thing? It's not insulting to show love and care for your love ones.
