I've seen several pages on Facebook condemning women who had babies through c-section. They said it's not natural, it hurts your baby, it's the "easy" way out, etc. Bullshit. One page said "There's no real reason to have a baby through c-section". Bull and absolutely false. It's shit like that that makes first time moms doubt their OB. Sometimes you have to have a c-section for your baby to make it. One of my Facebook friends had to have a c-section or her son would've died. He was premature, but something happened that made it more dangerous to stay in than be born. Sometimes baby just won't come out and they need to. I was a c-section because they were worried the cord was wrapped around my neck. My mom fell the day before and went to see if I was okay. I was, but they were scared the cord would strangle me. If I didn't come on my own, they'd do a c-section. And they did. Mom and I were both okay, and that's all that matters. I didn't have any birth defects. I've never struggled physically, mentally, or with development. My mom was fine. If you didn't know, there's no way you could tell which method I was born with. And really, it's no one's business how you gave birth. It might be your doctor's business, for medical reasons, but all they want is for you and baby to be healthy. Ladies, if anyone (other than your doctor) tries to tell you how to have your baby, tell them to shut the hell up. C-section, epidural, or natural, they're all okay. And for that matter, home birth, water birth, tradition hospital birth, whatever, those are okay too. Just, please, try to make sure you have a licensed midwife with you wherever you have your baby.
