I hit myself, and I'm scared I'm going to start cutting.

  • I've been struggling with the urge to hurt myself, so I understand how you feel. But I've decided that I will never let myself reach that point. When you feel the need to hit or cut, do something else that is painful but not bad for you. For example, go for a run. Run fast until you're sweating and your lungs and legs hurt. It will 'punish' you and also take your mind from the problem. Just don't hurt yourself, because then you might lose control.

  • How can you be scared that you're going to start cutting? Literally all you have to do is not do it. It's that simple. And you need to learn that hitting yourself doesn't solve anything. It doesn't make you feel any better in the long run. It only adds to the pain.
