I do not understand. How do you "forgive but not forget?" If you don't forget how is it considered forgiven?
Forgive but not forget to remember it as a lesson learned. If someone hurts you, you may forgive him or her. But you will learn that you should ignore or avoid that person as necessary.
You can forgive a person if they hurt you. A genuine forgiveness means that you don't ever bring it up again for any reason. You can't forget because the pain doesn't go away, it remains as a scar, always there, ready to remind you. If it's an emotional scar, you will never forget it, but being able to forgive the person that hurt you, that shows how strong you are.
