I am entering a very selective art competition. its called GHP and basically in round 1, 15/55 artsits grades 10-12 in my county go on to state based on their art's quality and interviews. then, in round two more interviews happen and of all the artist in the state, around 30-45 get to win. winners go to college for about a month over summer and study art! i really want to win, or get to state interviews, but i know even that is a long shot. today in a meeting my art teacher said of the nine of us from our school, he predicts 3 will go on to state. i doubt i can beat these other 9 girls better yet all 55 people. i have to prepare 13 pieces of artwork, one being 3D which i RARELY do and matt them all and it is a lot of work. im running out of time and have other responsibilities like my actual AP art class' assignments, student council, my other classes, and so on. this year is my only chance because my teacher only nominates juniors. currently i stay after school each day for a club or GHP meeting and then i go home and paint for 3-5 hours. im so stressed. I really do not expect to win but im putting in so much work and i want it so badly i know I will be dissapointed if I don't. also, in today's meeting my teacher told us all that our work could be better - these pieces are the best i have so if he still expects improvement then i guess someone else is going to win. 😢 if you want to see some of my art I'm @puddingpocket on instagram. if you're doing GHP too, could i see yours?
