My mom and I both work third shift at UPS. So we're not used to being up during the day. So, after we did gifts and things this morning, I laid down to take a nap and she laid down too about an hour later. When my dad made dinner, he and my brother and sister ate before they woke me up to go eat. And no one ever woke up my mom cause my dad wanted to let her sleep. But now her feelings are hurt because apparently she told him to wake her up when they were going to make dinner so they could make it together. Mind you, dinner wasn't anything fancy; battered fish and French fries and spinach. And my dad forgot to make the spinach so it was just fish and fries. But we were supposed to enjoy it together, as a family, and I ate alone and my mom didn't even get any. I understand both sides, because of course she's hurt. She feels forgotten and unwanted. But my dad just wanted to let her rest if she was tired because UPS has been killing us lately and we've both been worn out. He was going to make her fresh food when she got up, but she just got up at 3:30 in the morning. Now they both feel sad and angry at each other. Some Christmas, huh? This Christmas has kinda sucked. Not even just today; the whole season. The older I get, the more I understand why adults dread and hate Christmas. I'm 20 years old and this is the year that my Christmas spirit died.
